Sandro Miguel Ferreira Veiga’s research group at Nanjing University's Nanjing-Helsinki Institute of Atmospheric and Earth System Sciences is seeking to recruit 1 postdoctoral researcher for related research projects.

Position Description

Sandro F. Veiga’s research group at the Nanjing-Helsinki Institute is looking to hire one postdoctoral researcher to engage in the following research topics: the impact of major climate modes on regional hydrological and climatic patterns under future global warming scenarios, and the impact of climate change on regional hydrological and climatic conditions and extreme events, particularly in monsoon regions (such as East Asia and/or South America).

Qualifications:

1. A Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences or related discipline, aged no more than 35;

2. Strong independent research capability, fluent in English, and good teamwork spirit;

3. Experience in research on climate variability and change or hydroclimatology; experience in analyzing reanalysis data and climate model outputs (e.g., CMIP models); and experience in running numerical models (WRF, GCM) or using artificial intelligence tools to study climate processes.
